Join us for this 2-day conference in Granollers, Spain!

A Cities Talk Nature Global Engagement Event was organized as part of the INTERLACE project in Envigado, Colombia and streamed online on 23 and 24 November 2023 to explore these topics in more depth.

The INTERLACE Urban Governance Atlas was officially launched on 11 May at the INTERLACE Cities Talk Nature Conference in Chemnitz. The first of its kind, the online database showcases 250 policy instruments from 41 countries supporting nature-based solutions and ecosystem restoration.

The city of Chemnitz welcomed over 100 international participants from 11-12 May 2023 to the CITIES TALK NATURE Conference 'Unlocking the potential of underutilised urban areas'. The conference was the third in-person event in the CITIES TALK NATURE series, providing space for learning, exchange and inspiration.

In this webinar, the European municipality of Granollers (Spain) and the Latin American municipality of Cuenca (Ecuador) will talk about their strategies for long-term implementation of nature-based solutions. They will share challenges they faced as well as tips for other cities to replicate.

The Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) who is one of the partners of the INTERLACE project offers a permanent position as researcher in urban nature and nature-based solutions at NINA. The position will be linked to the research group Nature in the City, which includes research on urban nature-based solutions, socio-ecological systems, ecosystem services and instruments in urban planning.

The “The river, the city and I” photo and drawing competition was a huge success: “The river stream gives life to the municipality of Envigado with its abundant water and vegetation”, knows Danna Gabriela, 11-year-old from Envigado, Colombia. Like her, over 90 children from four cities have participated in this competition highlighting the importance of nature in the city.

This conference aims to strengthen knowledge and exchange on the implementation of Nature-based Solutions and will bring together city and city network representatives from across Europe.

From 21-22 September 2022, the Kraków Metropolitan Area hosted the first European INTERLACE Engagement Event. The conference aimed to strengthen knowledge and exchange on the implementation of Nature-based Solutions and brought together more than 50 participants from municipalities and other organisations from across Europe.
