The Symposium "Reflections on Urban Ecological Rehabilitation and Management of Green Spaces in the City" was held on August 27th in San José with more than 55 participants. Several key stakeholders joined the discussion including representatives of CBIMA for Nature and local governments of the Greater Metropolitan Area surrounding CBIMA.

On March 26, 2021, the launch of the INTERLACE project was held in Envigado with the participation of public sector actors, officials, Environmental Authorities and strategic allies such as the Alexander von Humboldt Institute and Empresas Públicas de Medellín. On April 29, the project was socialized with community leaders, civil society actors and other institutions to whom the objectives of the impact group and the network of cities were presented.
On Thursday 25th March, the INTERLACE project together with Forum INTERLACE, a participatory body to design, discuss and implement the actions to be developed during the project were launched in the City of Granollers, Spain.
In order to present the INTERLACE project to the wider public in Portoviejo a press conference with the participation of Mr Mayor Agustín Casanova was held in the City Hall on 18 March. The launch of the project was accompanied by a video presenting INTERLACE project and its planned activities in the city. Mr Nicolas Salmon from YES Innovation, gave an extensive interview about the project's planned activities in the city.
15 municipalities of the Krakow Metropolis and several other partners established the Metropolitan Action Group (MAG) as part of the INTERLACE project. The inaugural meeting was held online on March 18, 2021. The goal of this Local City Network Accelerator is to cooperate in order to renew and strengthen natural areas in the Metropolis.
On Monday, March 17 2021, the Corredor Biológico Interurbano María Aguilar (CBIMA) hosted an event to launch its local city-network accelerator called CBIMA por La Naturaleza. 39 experts working at CBIMA and able to impact CBIMA key challenges through their expertise were brought together. During the event they were informed of the potential benefits of participating in this city network and also had the opportunity to analyse the local challenges to be addressed in INTERLACE.

Healthy ecosystems are essential for our planet and well-being. INTERLACE joins the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), which aims to prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of ecosystems at a global level.
