CBIMA Symposium on Reflections on Urban Ecological Rehabilitation and Management of Green Spaces

The Symposium "Reflections on Urban Ecological Rehabilitation and Management of Green Spaces in the City" was held on August 27th in San José with more than 55 participants.  Several key stakeholders joined the discussion including representatives of CBIMA for Nature and local governments of the Greater Metropolitan Area surrounding CBIMA. The event aimed at raising awareness on the importance of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in the region and to share knowledge on context-specific challenges and opportunities with regards to urban ecological rehabilitation and legal frameworks for green spaces management. During the day, INTERLACE cities -CBIMA and Granollers- shared and discussed experiences on NBS.

Interesting points were raised regarding topics such as the importance of ecological rehabilitation for achieving resilient cities, lessons learned on project implementation and available legal frameworks for the green space management. The participants also had the opportunity to get familiarized with a set of geospatial data tools for green space management and to reflect on how they could be incorporated into their local decision-making processes.
